Your Role at CabotCabot Corporation is seeking a Tax Counsel to join the Tax organization at the Boston, MA headquarters location. This highly visible position is responsible for ensuring that Cabot optimizes its tax position and meets company objectives. Identified as a key position within the team, this role has a broad range of responsibilities, including U.S. and non-U.S. tax planning, transfer pricing, tax reporting, tax audits, and M&A activity.
This individual will join a collaborative and tenured tax team supportive of work/life balance. This is an ideal role for those well-versed in international tax, experienced in leading tax projects, and able to contribute an element of transfer pricing and/or M&A expertise.
This role is based at the Boston, MA, location, but is eligible to participate in Cabot's Flexible Working Arrangement program.
How You Will Make an Impact
- Lead activities around the implementation of tax planning strategies and M&A transactions
- Lead transfer pricing related projects
- Monitor and implement strategies related to new tax laws
- Assist with U.S. GAAP reporting, including responsibility for non-U.S. tax provision package review and other tasks
- Take significant role with GILTI, BEAT and other tax analysis, including tax modeling
- Partner with business leaders, finance, treasury, legal, and external advisers on business and tax planning matters
- Research complex tax issues and prepare technical documentation
What You Will Bring to Cabot
- 6+ years of relevant tax experience
- Experience at a large accounting firm and/or publicly traded multinational company preferred
- Strong international tax experience required
- JD with concentration in Tax preferred, but will consider candidates without legal background
- CPA may be beneficial, but not required
- Preferred experience in transfer pricing and/or M&A
- Extensive knowledge of U.S. Federal corporate tax concepts and informed about changes in global tax laws and regulations which affect the company
- Strong organization and project management skills
- Expertise with the various software tools utilized within the department
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to collaborate in a cross functional team environment
- Ability to develop an understanding of global businesses and develop a network of contacts about changing business conditions and strategies
