Rock Creek Energy Group, LLP is seeking a mid- to senior-level associate attorney to join their select team of professionals focused on the electric energy industry.

Rock Creek Energy Group, LLP is a boutique law firm based in Washington, D.C. that specializes in federal energy regulatory law. Our practice is nationwide, and our clients include participants across the electric industry. We serve as special regulatory counsel on matters involving new project development (e.g., generation, battery storage, transmission facilities); project operations and market participation; hydropower facilities; M&A and financings; wholesale electric rates and tariffs; and FERC compliance and enforcement. Position & Qualifications
A qualified candidate will have 3 – 5+ years of experience working on regulatory issues in a law firm, in-house, or governmental agency setting. The ideal candidate will have experience with transactional and compliance matters involving the Federal Power Act, Public Utility Holding Company Act, Public Utility Regulatory Policies Act, and FERC’s regulations. We may consider candidates with regulatory experience in other subject matter areas to the extent a candidate has a demonstrated interest in learning our practice area. This position requires a self-starter with a keen interest in administrative law, strong analytical skills, and excellent attention to detail. A qualified candidate must be able to (i) communicate clearly and write well for different audiences; (ii) manage a constantly evolving workload efficiently; and (iii) be team-oriented and able to operate successfully within small firm environment.
Our team members work on a hybrid or remote basis. Candidates located in the Washington, DC area are preferred. This position requires admission to the DC Bar.
The estimated base annual salary range for this position is $225,000 - $250,000. Please note this information is a general guideline only. The base compensation offered to an individual candidate will consider the candidate’s relevant experience and key skills, as well as current market conditions and business considerations.
